OBRA HandBakery
OBRA HandBakery has officially expanded to Santa Ana, bringing its signature baked empanadas and artisan pastries from its successful Long Beach location to the heart of Orange County. Founded nearly six years ago in Long Beach, OBRA HandBakery quickly became known for its scratch-made empanadas, house-crafted sauces, specialty coffee, and handcrafted desserts. After building a loyal following and a strong community presence, the brand is proud to continue its growth in Santa Ana.
OBRA was founded by business partners César and Luz, originally from Colombia. Chef César studied in Argentina and worked professionally in Brasil and Peru, bringing a diverse South American culinary influence to the menu, including select Cuban staples - all developed from his own original recipes.
Strategically located in the Southwest Metro area, OBRA sits just minutes from South Coast Plaza and John Wayne Airport. The new location is at 110 West MacArthur Boulevard, Santa Ana, CA 92707, in the longtime former space of La Cebollita, a neighborhood staple for decades.
OBRA invested nearly a full year renovating and transforming the space to bring it up to modern standards while aligning it with the brand’s warm, contemporary aesthetic. The fully renovated location offers ample indoor dining, free parking, complimentary EV chargers, and a welcoming environment intentionally designed to build community.
Guests can enjoy OBRA’s signature empanadas, OBRA balls, seasonal varieties, breakfast burritos, sandwiches made from scratch, fresh pastries, specialty coffee, and desserts - all baked and prepared fresh throughout the day using high-quality ingredients. In addition to dine-in service, OBRA offers takeout, catering for corporate and community events, and convenient online ordering through www.obrahandbakery.com .
The expansion to Santa Ana is both a business milestone and a personal blessing for the OBRA team. The team is grateful for the opportunity to serve in such a vibrant and dynamic community, and every day they work with intention, love, and a mindset of continuous improvement — striving not only to grow, but to earn a meaningful and lasting place within the Santa Ana community.
OBRA looks forward to many years of serving, connecting, and building community in Orange County.
