Stamford and New Haven are ‘economic powerhouses’ but there’s room for growth elsewhere in CT, official says
David Lehman, Connecticut’s Department of Economic and Community Development commissioner, called the Stamford and New Haven areas “economic powerhouses” Tuesday, but said for the rest of the state to follow suit, more communities need to offer a broader array of housing opportunities.

Lehman made his comments during the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce’s annual Regional Real Estate and Construction forecast event, which was held at WoodWinds in Branford. He said there are 100,000 job openings in the state right now and only 50,000 people looking for work. Read More
Hamden office building purchased for lab space
A 19,000-square-foot, three-story office building in Hamden has sold for $817,500, and the new owner plans to use it for a state-of-the-art laboratory.

The property is at 35 Worth Ave., on a 0.86 parcel at the corner of Whitney Avenue.

Will Braun of O,R&L Commercial in Branford, represented the seller, AAA Northeast Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island. Braun also procured the buyer, NorthEast BioLab Inc., with the assistance of Franklin T. Renz of O,R&L’s construction division. Read More

CT Style – Avelo Airlines Takes Flight from Tweed Airport for Chicago, Raleigh-Durham and Washington, D.C.
Travel has become more convenient for the southern part of Connecticut since Avelo Airlines came to Tweed New Haven Airport more than six months ago. And now, it’s launching three new flights.

CT Style Express Host Natasha Lubczenko spoke with Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy about their latest expansion, beyond their affordable flights to Florida destinations. Levy shared that they will now be flying to: Chicago, IL; Raleigh-Durham, NC; and Washington, D.C.
