The Best Small Cities for Big Careers

Big opportunities aren’t limited to big cities - and Boca Raton is proof. A recent CoworkingCafe study, shared by the The New York Times, ranks Boca Raton in the Top 20 small cities nationwide for career growth, highlighting strong wages, job opportunities, and quality of life. A Quantum Economy

Florida is emerging as a growing hub for quantum technology, marked by a series of coordinated developments across industry, academia, and workforce training. Key highlights include D-Wave’s headquarters relocation and R&D expansion from Palo Alto, California to Boca Raton, Atlantic University’s investment in a $20 million on-site quantum computer, and expanded workforce initiatives from Palm Beach State College — signaling a shift from ambition to execution and positioning the region, and Boca Raton in particular, at the forefront of advanced computing innovation.

Investing in Our Future

Boca Raton’s economy continued to advance in 2025. Through the Economic Development Incentives Policy, the City supported five economic development projects that will bring over 600 new high paying jobs and nearly $90 million in capital investment, reinforcing Boca Raton’s position as a premier business destination. Companies supported include: D-Wave, Concorde Investment Services, brainlabs and ADMA Biomanufacturing, LLC.

Making An Impact for Business

The Office of Economic Development has been recognized with a 2025 Impact Award from Business Facilities — a national publication serving corporate site selectors for more than 50 years. The award recognizes the Office’s support in the biopharma sector through its work on the ADMA Biomanufacturing, LLC project, delivering meaningful community impact and reinforcing the City’s continued success in attracting high-value, innovation-driven investment.


Celebrating Women's Leadership The Office of Economic Development was proud to partner on the 5th Annual International Women’s Day SPARK event, celebrating authenticity, resilience, and kindness through inspiring stories from local women leaders. Economic Development Manager Jessica Del Vecchio served as emcee for the third consecutive year, helping guide an engaging and impactful evening that highlighted leadership, community, and inclusion.

Downtown Campus Redevelopment

Following the outcome of the March 10 municipal election, the Downtown Campus Redevelopment project will not move forward as proposed. The City will evaluate potential next steps for this City-owned property and remains committed to engaging residents and stakeholders in shaping a future vision for the area.
