Noachis Terra Inc.
, a new biotechnology company that will focus its efforts on the development of a vaccine for COVID-19 announced in April that its headquarters will be located in Gainesville.
Interim President Gary Ascani said the company is working on proposals to public and private investors who to help develop a patent-pending technology that may be useful in creating a vaccine for COVID-19 as well as other strains of coronavirus.

building has sold for $12M. This sale is the largest in Alachua County since 2015--the investor,

was motivated to purchase by how impressed they were when they came into the
Alachua area witnessed the biotech research being done.

Ology Bioservices Inc
., a biologics contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), and Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc, developing DNA medicines for infectious diseases and cancer, announced today that the Department of Defense has awarded Ology Bioservices with a contract valued at $11.9 million to work with Inovio on DNA technology transfer to rapidly manufacture DNA vaccines. The Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce
won a grant from
Duke Energy
which allowed for a showcase of high-paying jobs in the energy industry to local high schools. The participating schools were Eastside High, Gainesville High, Santa Fe High and Hawthorne High. On March 10th and March 12th the students toured San Felasco Tech City, Collective & Co. and Fracture as they learned about potential careers in energy. At the end of the tour, they participated in a competition that had the grand prize of two students attending

Join our COLLABORATE 2025 Action Teams!
|

The volunteers of COLLABORATE 2025 will work in three action teams under the guidance of the Greater Gainesville Chamber’s Economic Development Committee. Together, they will bring to reality the goals and aspirations of the strategy. The three action teams will each overlap with the three pillars of the strategy: Talent, Opportunity and Place. These teams will meet quarterly, and may contain within them sub-teams that carry out initiatives and projects to elevate the region for all current and future residents.
