ACI Learning announced today that ITProTV will join its portfolio of Audit, Cyber and IT learning solutions for enterprise and consumer markets. ACI Learning will integrate ITProTV’s people, content/IP, production capabilities, and customer contracts into its core business operations effective immediately. The search for a new owner to occupy the Nationwide Insurance building on Williston Road has ended with the University of Florida Health’s closing of a sale Friday to take over the empty space. Come early 2021, about 400 administrative employees from UF Health will begin work out of the two-story building at 3300 SW Williston Road. The goal is for 800 employees to move into the building in phases next year. Learn more here.
After 26 years in business, natural gas and energy company Infinite Energy is being sold to Atlanta’s Gas South. Darin Cook and Rich Blaser founded Infinite Energy, which provides retail and wholesale energy in areas where customers may choose their own providers, in 1994 after working at Gainesville Regional Utilities.  Learn more here.
North Florida Regional Medical Center unveiled new units as part of $90 million expansion.The hospital’s new 30-bed postpartum and 10-bed antepartum unit, opening next month, is one of several units opening over the next several months on three new floors at the hospital’s south tower. The tower’s sixth floor, a 30-bed orthopedic unit, opened to its first patients Thursday. A new 18-bed intensive care unit will follow the postpartum unit in January, along with a 24-bed level III in neonatal intensive care unit in April. Learn more here.

The Greater Gainesville Region has been recognized by Insurify as a 2020 Top Stem Community. They analysis looked for areas with the highest proportion of residents in STEM-based careers, graduate schools with the best programs in STEM, as well as the best cities for women in tech according to SmartAsset. You can learn more here.
Santa Fe College is honored to once again be the top choice for Florida Bright Futures scholars for the 2019-2020 academic year. The Florida Department of Education reports that, as they have the previous two years, SF led the Florida College System for both the number of initial enrollees (738 for this academic year) and renewing enrollees (581) receiving Bright Futures scholarships. Overall, more than $2.8 million was distributed to the 1,319 Bright Futures scholars at SF. You can learn more here.

If you have an idea for a new business, Gainesville is the place to open shop. The city was ranked in the top ten best college towns to start a business. A study by bestcollegereviews.org compiled college towns, and Gainesville came in at number 7 on the list.
