May 4-9 is recognized as Economic Development Week, where Economic Development Organizations across the globe bring awareness to work being done in their communities.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, we would like to say THANK YOU for your commitment to economic development in Enid. Over the past 11 years, we have made strides to make Enid a place where people want to work, live, and grow. As we look forward, the future is bright, and we know that together we can accomplish the goals set during our Visioning Session in February.

It will be vital that we become more innovative in our recruitment and retention initiatives. Together, we can rise above the challenges that we face due to the COVID-19 impact.

EPS Prepared for Distance Learning with Technology Initiative
On April 6th, Enid Public Schools (EPS) made the transition, like all other 520 public school districts in Oklahoma, to distance learning. While never expected, EPS had positioned themselves to make a smooth transition to distance learning. Additionally, over the past few years, EPS has been working on technology initiatives to provide resources to the over 8,000 students in the district.

During these unprecedented times there have been difficult decisions made by our state and local leaders. During the COVID-19 pandemic both Governor Stitt and Mayor Pankonin worked to keep Oklahomans safe.

As we move forward into the reopening phases, their acknowledgement of the importance of rejuvenating the economy and continuing to implement best practices of safety is valued.
Census Data is important to Economic Development

Census data plays a large role in business retention and expansion projects. Many companies will look at the population and potential workforce in a community when they are deciding whether to expand or relocate.

Completing the Census takes less than 15 minutes and is confidential.
