and Saginaw Future Launches Fundraising Campaign

Saginaw, Mich., part of the Great Lakes Bay Region, May 13, 2016 - The County and the City of Saginaw celebrated Economic Development Week from May 8-14. Economic Development Week was created by the International Economic Development Council in commemoration of its 90-year anniversary as the largest professional membership organization for economic developers.
Economic developers are charged with generating economic growth, creating better jobs for residents and facilitating an improved quality of life. The industry remains as complex, challenging and rewarding as ever.
Barry Matherly, the Chair of the International Economic Development Council and the President of the Greater Richmond Partnership said, “We are so pleased that Saginaw and the Great Lakes Bay Region are helping to celebrate the profession and the professionals that work hard to create opportunity for all citizens and their communities."
The economic development efforts provided by economic developers were showcased this week nationally. Members of Congress also highlighted the work of our nation’s economic developers through special resolutions that appeared in the Congressional Record. Both the City and County of Saginaw presented Saginaw Future Inc. with Economic Development Week proclamations.
Economic Development Week also coincided with Saginaw Future Inc.'s launch of its 2017-2019 Fundraising Campaign that was held at a recent Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce Percolator Breakfast. Nearly 40% of Saginaw Future's funding sources come from the private sector and the tax deductible contributions have a significant Return on Investment for the entire community.
- Every $1,000 donated generates more than $402,000 in new investment
- Every $1,000 donated generates nearly 3 jobs
