The 1000 Islands and Rideau Canal Garden Trail is looking for new garden experiences for the 2019 season.

If you have a garden in Leeds Grenville that you would like others to enjoy, please contact us to learn more about our award-winning trail.

The criteria to join has been updated. Seasonal commitments are now more flexible and can be shorter to include specialty crops such as sunflowers, roses and lavender.

"We have changed it to make it more attractive to all gardeners," says Site Selection Committee Chair Laurie Wight. "Now you can participate without committing to 3 months. It can be by appointment only. Hosts determine when their garden is open."

Laurie and her husband Ed, hosts of Chillane Gardens near Mallorytown, are among 13 area gardens with the trail. They've been involved since the trail's launch in 2015.

"We've all enjoyed meeting people from around the world," says Laurie. "We've learned so much from visitors and shared gardening tips."
