MALLORYTOWN LANDING - There is much to see and experience at The Purple Door Books and Gifts shop.

Owner Linda Scallion is in her 6th year of business and says her business overlooking the 1000 Islands Parkway has a loyal following and has become a destination in "a great old house with great energy and history."

The Purple Door is a hub for spiritual, metaphysical and New Age information, products, esoteric events and workshops. You'll find an array of inspirational gifts, meditation tools, singing bowls, statuary, Tarot and Oracle cards, healing crystals, music, pendulums, flying wish paper and more than a 100 different tumbled stones.

Linda offers the largest selection of New Age and metaphysical books along the St. Lawrence Corridor.

"There are new people coming into the store all of the time," says Linda, adding customers tend to stop in and stay for a while because there is so much to see. "It's been very positive and the business is growing each year."

Among some of the special events, classes and workshops are visits from spiritual and intuitive mediums. Recent events included Intuitive Readings by Kristy Gibson, a Christmas Tea Tasting with Zen Acres, and Divination Stone Readings with Yaeb'Et. An Intention Setting workshop by Sheryl Pederson is set for January 12th.

The shop is open year round from Tuesday to Saturday. List your festival or event in the Ontario Guide
It's that time of year again to submit your festival or event in the Festivals and Events Ontario Guide. It's free!

Your information will appear in the guide and on the Ontario Travel website. It has an annual reach of more than 4 million consumers.

For a listing to be considered in the selection process for inclusion in the Guide, your Festivals or Event(s) must be submitted to BOTH the Festivals and Events Ontario website and the Destination Ontario website.

The printed guides will be available through a broad distribution network, including the Festivals and Events Ontario office, the Destination Ontario visitor information centres and associated tourism related channels.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, January 11, 2019.
