To Be Continued Consignment is also Super-sized Toy Shop

KEMPTVILLE - This is a store that keeps you coming back for more.

To Be Continued Consignment Shop in Old Town Kemptville is a destination for gently-worn clothing and footwear for the whole family and so much more! Toys, crafts, games, children's learning products along with everything you need for a special baby shower or birthday party can be found here.

"People say to me I wish I'd found you earlier," says owner Shelley Mitchell, who has built a large and loyal customer following which continues to grow.

"It's a lot of fun. Big and little people love the space," says Shelley. One special moment was when a youngster familiar with the store returned with their grandfather and said, excitedly, 'isn't this place so much fun?!'"

Services in the bright and spacious store include quality family consignment, helium balloons (both latex and foils), customized balloon arrangements and arches, and a balloon-filling station as well as a huge selection of new and used toys by all of the popular companies.

"We try to keep our ear to the ground and be very aware of what customers are looking for so they can find it right here," says Shelley, adding she has people from throughout the area as regular clients.

"We try to have the latest in baby shower gifts," she says. "We also really love to have a selection of junior games like Stratego, Clue and Scrabble. We get the Little Hands original card holders and they always sell out."

Puzzles are huge. They became even more popular during the pandemic. Shelley carries Cobble Hill puzzles for families where there are three different sizes of puzzle pieces so all ages can have fun working together. There are art and craft supplies, science kits, and so much more. To Be Continued has one of the largest selections of Harry Potter collectibles in Eastern Ontario.

Dedicated to reusing quality products, Shelley bought the existing consignment business 13 years ago at its previous location on Prescott Street. She would later move the business to its current location. Since relocating, the shop has doubled in size to 4,000-square-feet.

"It's important to have a vibrant downtown that shows love for its community," says Shelley, who is a board member with the Old Town Kemptville BIA and chair of the marketing and promotion committee. "As a business we want to give back to the community."

Shelley is an advocate of the Digital Main Street program. Via the program, she has launched a new website, improved her social media reach and accessed grant money to purchase new hardware. She is also a believer in recycling and sustainability and helping young families, which is why she feels strongly about her consignment business.

Learn more about To Be Continued by visiting their website, and checking out their Instagram and Facebook pages. You can send them an email or give them a call at 613-258-0166. The shop is located at 207 Sanders Street near the B&H Your Community Grocer.
