If you haven't started your application to the Economic Recovery Program, it's not too late! The application is due on September 9, by midnight. The program is part of the Maine Department of Economic & Community Development's (DECD) path to recovery for the economy.
Here are the highlights of the new program:
This program is a GRANT, not a loan, aimed at Maine-based small businesses (50 or fewer employees) and some nonprofits.
It's based on a demonstrated need for financial relief due to the impacts of COVID-19.
If you have all of your materials gathered, the online application should take approximately 30 minutes to fill out. (according to the DECD).
It's not "first come, first served" process. All applications are based on a numerical score derived from submission questions. Please note that DECD will compile the scores - you just need to fill out the application. See Distribution Criteria.
