The Houston-Galveston Area Council and the Gulf Coast Economic Development District stand ready to assist the 13-county region in pursuing strategies to restore local economies. We have launched a recovery webpage and will be issuing this Economic Recovery Resources - Weekly Update to help our local partners stay on top of new funding opportunities.

Business Retention and Recovery Survey Response Deadline Extended


To better understand how COVID-19 measures and volatile energy prices have affected the region's economy, the GCEDD is asking you to complete to a brief survey to identify immediate needs and coordinate economic recovery efforts. Responses are due by May 7.

Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs HOME Guidelines Released


The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) HOME Program announces that the Tenant Based Rental Assistance COVID-19 Set-aside Application and Application Submission Procedures Manual are now available.


U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Provides Grant Funding to Support Environmental Justice Communities Impacted by COVID-19

In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Environmental Protection Agency is making $1 million in grant funding available to states to help local environmental justice communities address COVID-19 concerns faced by low-income and minority communities.

Economic Development Administration CARES Act Funding


The U.S. Economic Development Administration anticipates releasing a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the $1.5 billion in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funding within the next few weeks. Federal Funding for Rural Communities

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a COVID-19 Federal Rural Resource Guide organizing funding opportunities identified in the CARES Act and other federal resources that can help support rural America.
