Winter Carnival enjoyed by community
For a few hours on the evening of March 1, no one paid much attention to what the weather was doing outside as families were having too much fun inside at the Winter Carnival.
Residents are reminded that May 21, 2019 is the day to vote on the Elmsford school budget and for two open seats on the Board of Education. Voting will take place at the Alice E. Grady Elementary School in the Music Room., between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Friends and families of students at the Alice E. Grady Elementary School enjoyed the first-ever Living Wax Museum. Students in each grade had spent time researching a famous African American, from history or contemporary times, and presented their research to the public.
Students at the Carl L. Dixson Primary School had an opportunity to take a few minutes out of their school day to read with a good friend as part of “Read Across America” Week. One day was particularly special when parents visited the school during the day to read to their child.
All the elements for a good story can be found in Disney’s 'Mulan Jr.’ — honor, adventure, conviction and even love. The Grady Drama Club told the tale during its performances this spring.
The stage at Alexander Hamilton High School was transformed into Washington Heights, a neighborhood in New York City for the spring production of 'In the Heights.'
Elmsford school community members had an opportunity to travel without leaving their hometown during the International Night held on April 12 at Alexander Hamilton High School.
James McLeod brings message of perseverance to Grady
Students at Alice E. Grady Elementary School came away from one of their Fitness Friday events with much more than a good workout. On March 29, they met James McLeod and heard first-hand how a person can persevere when life becomes difficult.
College Night offered parents comfort, information
For high school juniors it might not seem like it now, but time will pass quickly and soon they will head off to college. This was just one of the realities presented at College Night at Alexander Hamilton High School.
It was an afternoon of pomp and circumstance as 11 fifth-and-sixth graders were inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society at the Alice E. Grady Elementary School.
