Did you know that Edco Supply Corporation is one of the largest stocking distributors of VCI and VPI wraps and films in the United States? VCI stands for volatile corrosion inhibitor and VPI stands for volatile protective inhibitor. VCI or VPI are papers and films
treated with engineered chemicals that safely prevent corrosion on protected metals. The chemicals in the VCI or VPI products are volatile. When metals are wrapped or packaged in VCI or VPI the chemicals volatize in the packaging environment and form a protective
molecular layer on the surface of the metal. This protective layer prevents salt, dirt, oxygen and other materials from depositing on the metal and causing corrosion.
Edco offers military specification as well as commercial VCI/VPI products. VCI products are available in Kraft paper or polyethylene bases. Some of the more popular wraps that we stock are VW35D, VW60D, PW32, PW33, VW35H, VW60H, Uniwrap MPI, Coppertex, and Silver Saver. Some of the more popular VCI products which we make bags out of are 30 Zerust, 60 Zerust, 705 Zerust, Silver Guard, and blue poly VCI.
