Dear Mark,
Eagles, we have been planning diligently all summer to ensure that our 2023-2024 school year is off to a great start and we are excited to welcome our students back on Thursday, August 10th!
This past Wednesday, our teachers returned for pre-planning, and we held our Eagles' Landing back to school event. The energy at the event was fantastic, students picked up laptops, met teachers, and scoped out how they could connect with the school. Now we are ALL ready to get back to our routines. Friday, we capped the first week of preplanning with a team building bowling break. Thank you to our PTSO for providing a beautiful breakfast for our teachers Friday morning.
We have new Eagles to welcome to the nest (see below and watch socials). One of these is our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Steve Louis-Jean, who returns home to OCPS from a neighboring county. Welcome to the nest, Mr. Louis-Jean!!
You all may be keeping your finger on the pulse of the changes to district policy about cell phones. We will continue with our systems already in place from last year for students to have their cell phones and earphones silent and away in a purse or backpack all day from the first bell to the last. This now includes watches, and any other digital accessory that connects to a cell phone. We will need your continued partnership to ensure our students remain academically focused.
Please make sure you have your parent drop off / pick up tag before day one if you are driving your child to school. See below for details to register. We will see the students bright and early Thursday morning!
With Eagle Pride,
Heather Kreider, Ed.D.
Principal

Our Edgewater faculty and staff had the best time bonding over bowling last week! We are ready for the most amazing 2023-2024 school year, connecting and supporting #EveryPerson #EveryDay #EveryWay
Edgewater’s Bookkeeper, Ashley Johnson (above left with Dr. Kreider), and Advanced Studies Coordinator, Alexa Corbo, received prizes for bowling the top highest scores of the afternoon.
Our Eagles’ Landing event was a smashing success!!! Edgewater’s campus was flooded with new and returning students and their families. They were able to talk with club sponsors, show interest in athletics, pick up laptops, see their counselors, and mingle with their teachers.

Monday's Motivational Moment!
|
We are now only a few days from the start of a new school year. We hope that all of our Eagles will approach 2023-2024 as though they are on a mission—set to make this a truly spectacular year. To do that, every school day, every class period, every athletic endeavor, every band/choir/orchestra practice, every theatre rehearsal, every JROTC drill, every club or organizational meeting—most any EHS activity—should be approached with a zealous "I'm on a mission" attitude.
If our students look at their daily activities as part of a more important mission that will give them an awesome high school experience prepping them for what comes later, they will achieve their goals and perhaps, go much further.
Prepare to make this a great year Eagles. Do your very best each day. Be on a mission.
