Toy Swap at Edgewood Clubhouse
Friday, November 21, 2025 | 5:30 - 7:30 pm

The inaugural TOY SWAP held last month, at the Edgewood Clubhouse, was a huge success...bringing bright smiles and new toys to kids around our City!

Comments from attendees were so positive:

“It was so amazing to see toys getting a second life and staying out of the landfill 🙌♻️”

“My kids are obsessed with their ‘new’ toys and we cleared out our playroom too — win-win! 🙌”

Join Julie Janides, Founder of Toy Trader App and fellow neighbors for a fun evening of community and connection at the Edgewood Clubhouse!

Attendies are asked to bring (but NOT REQUIRED) gently used and clean toys to swap with other families while all enjoy games, fun and free pizza.

Let's all work together to keep toys out of our landfills and in the hands of kids who will love them!

This event is FREE and OPEN to ALL. PLEASE RSVP BELOW TO ENSURE THERE IS ENOUGH PIZZA FOR ALL!

Make a Difference Day - Saturday, October 26, 2025

Edgewood neighbors came together on Saturday, October 26th to participate in the City of Fort Lauderdale's "Make a Difference Day"! This annual community-wide volunteer event offers residents the opportunity to participate in various projects like neighborhood beautification, cleaning up beaches, and supporting donation drives to help our community.

Thanks to ECA Board Member, Sarah Boyd who organized the event and fellow ECA members that came out clean up our neighborhood. Thanks for all the hard work!

Five easy actions you can do this week to help with sustainability in our community.

  1. Audit your single-use items – Swap disposable water bottles, plastic bags or straws for reusable versions. The city and local tourism sites highlight how something as simple as a refillable bottle helps reduce plastic waste. (visitlauderdale.com)
  2. Recycle right – The Green Your Routine program supports the TAKE5 recycling initiative (checking for contamination in recycling carts) so that recyclables really get processed instead of going to landfill. (fortlauderdale.gov)
  3. Conserve water & energy at home – Replace old lightbulbs with LED, fix leaky faucets, take shorter showers, and ensure your cooling/AC systems are well maintained (especially important in our hot climate). Local examples: low-flow fixtures in hotels in Fort Lauderdale. (shorebreakfortlauderdale.com)
  4. Choose local and nature-friendly options – Whether it’s visiting a farmers’ market, using a bike or paddleboard instead of driving, or supporting local businesses that prioritise sustainability, these are wins for our community and environment. (visitlauderdale.com)
  5. Get involved locally & volunteer – Join your neighbourhood association in “Green Your Routine” events: tree plantings, beach cleanups, community recycling drives. The City invites residents to become “Green Your Routine” volunteers and earn points for their associations. (fortlauderdale.gov)
