Thanksgiving Harvest 2021:


Praise the Lord!!! Our Thanksgiving Harvest is in two days!! We thank God for guiding us thus far, for His love, mercy and blessings. We believe the God of Harvest, the God that is ever faithful to His promises of reward and multiplication of our little gifts will visit us individually and collectively, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Please, we plead with everyone to invite friends and family members to come and support the church generously. Remember that God has promised to bless and pay us back in good measure, more than we can ever imagine. Who can bless and be faithful more than God? Please let us all plan to give even more than we originally planned.

 I want to use this opportunity to express my gratitude and respect for the members of the 2021 Harvest Committee, for their hard work, their financial generosity and time towards this harvest. I also thank other members of saint Antoninus who have contributed in time and kind towards this Harvest; we cannot thank you enough. God bless you.

As we all plan to enjoy our day in thanksgiving, may we also plan to bring the best of what God has blessed us with. Just as King David said in 2 Samuel 26:24: “I will not offer to the Lord my God sacrifices that have cost me nothing, may we do so. May God in his infinite mercy reward us abundantly and in million fold, in Jesus’ Name, amen.

Why are we fundraising for St Antoninus?
Focus: the much needed infrastructure repairs


We enjoy the blessing of having beautiful lower and upper church structures. The foundation stones of each were respectively laid in 1911 and 1940 (in the midst of the great depression).
 
It is understandable that they now need some TLC, particularly in terms of electrical and HVAC repairs and upgrades. The same inefficient and dilapidated heating system functions for the upper and lower church, and other than two recently installed and very temporary and inadequate window units in the hall, we do not have and never had AC in either location.
 
Funds raised from the last 3 Thanksgiving Harvest appeals ($ 172,391) have been reserved for the upgrade of our church electrical supply and the gradual replacement of our HVAC system in church. We have been forced to move slowly on these projects due in part to the pandemic. However, by God’s grace, we were still able to accomplish the following:
 
We built a catwalk and platform for the new electric panels 30 feet above the floor of the boiler room (to prevent damage from humidity and potential flooding); we rebuilt the entire stairs (25 steps) leading down to that boiler room, we installed the electric panels for the 800 Amp electric upgrade (awaiting the final hook up by the city) and we completed the architectural plans for a new HVAC system in the lower church / parish hall area.

There is still so much to be done and this year’s Thanksgiving Harvest is vital to that work. We ask you the parishioners and friends of St Antoninus Church to help us to exceed all previous years in fundraising. Our goal this year is $150,000. That is a significant amount but if everyone does what they can, this will be possible.
 
We are reserving 70% of all funds raised through Thanksgiving Harvest 2021 exclusively for
infrastructure work on the church. Some of this will be spent immediately on roof repairs and some will be put aside for on-going and future electrical and HVAC work. 20% will be used for the general running of the parish and 10% will be for charity.
 
Please consider being a Major Sponsor or Benefactor in anticipation of this year’s Thanksgiving Harvest on November 14, 2021 or simply give as generously as your means allow. Flag Carriers for our Parade of Nations during our Thanksgiving Harvest Mass this Sunday November 14th.
As you may know, part of our Thanksgiving Harvest Mass tradition is the Parade of Nations, the time when parishioners process to the altar during the Presentation of Gifts, bearing flags of their own nations to be blessed at the altar.

The preference is to have a national carrying his/her own flag.
Below, please see the list of flags representing 22 nations.There are 4 open spots: Croatia, Dominican Republic, Ghana & Togo. If you are a national of any of these 4 nations, Please text 551-689-0107 if you are able to be the flag carrier of your nation.

All flag carriers must come to the side aisles of the Church just before Offertory and line up right alongside the flags that are laid out in the pews. (All this will be announced and pointed out at the proper time)
Please wear your ethnic clothes as much as possible.

The Family Harvest Offering is the time when a family, individual or a group comes before the Lord's altar to make an offering of their lives and their gifts to the Lord. This takes place during Mass on any of the Sundays leading up to the big celebration on November 14.

Last Sunday, we had one individual & 2 groups doing their offerings: Sorell Matone-Takaumbo, the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy & the Filipino Harvest Offering. Thank you and praise God!

The Filipino Harvest group (of 6 parishioners) sponsored a fundraiser last Sunday for our Thanksgiving Harvest- featuring lively line dancing & an authentic Filipino lunch. Thank you all for your participation. And most of all, thank You Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest, the multiplier of all our fruits and blessings!
