As the flowers start to bloom and we look forward to COVID-19 vaccination expansion, I wanted to wish you a Happy Spring and send you a few important updates. You can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook for updates and community information.  

VACCINE EXPANSION
  • The state is preparing for an uptick in supply of vaccines in the weeks ahead. Maryland will expand vaccine access to Phase 2A for Marylanders 60 and older on March 23 and all Marylanders 16 and older will be eligible by April 27, 2021.

  • To register for a Mass Vaccine site please do the following: 1) click on pre-register at a mass vaccination site; 2) click on pre-register 3) Enter information 4) Fill out screening 5) select your preferred Mass Vaccination site (from five open); 6) certify and check final box. Or, if you prefer you can call 1-800-MD-GOVAX
 
  • Pharmacy Expansion: Please scroll to the bottom of this page to find the list of EPIC pharmacies added as vaccine sites. Click here to find a pharmacy provider. 


SC-MAGLEV PUBLIC HEARINGS SIGN-UP
  • The public comment period for the SC- MAGLEV Draft Environmental Impact Study Survey (DEIS) has been extended from April 22 to May 24, 2021. Please see details here.
 
  • Please PRE-REGISTER to voice your opinion at the Public Hearings scheduled for April 6, 8 and 10, 2021 at this link scroll down to the section Live Testimony Sessions Registration for the registration form.


TAX DEADLINES EXTENDED
  • The Maryland tax filing deadline has been extended to July 15, 2021 for many filers. Read details here.
 
  • The Federal tax filing deadline has been extended to May, 17, 2021. Read details here

MEADOWBROOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL UPDATE
  • PGCPS will begin school renovations this year so beginning in August of 2021, Hyattsville Middle School sixth-grade students and Creative and Performing Arts Program students in seventh and eighth grades will share space at Robert Goddard Montessori School. Hyattsville Middle School’s remaining seventh- and eighth-graders will move to the former Meadowbrook Elementary School, located in Bowie.
