We love our schools!

Students from around the Nevada Utah Conference were asked, "What do you love about your school?"

Professional Development

Five members of our education team attended the High Reliability Schools Summit at the end of January. Topics included teacher wellness, professional development, standards based learning, and assessment. Members of the team were able to connect with other educators, including Adventist educators, from around the country. They discussed next steps for their campuses and look forward to better serving their students and staff.

Valentine's Day Celebrations

Staff and students from around the conference enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day and sharing the love that comes from God.

Celebrating a Baptism

On Sabbath, February 10, Kylie Hays was baptized at Wasatch Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church. Kylie attends sixth grade at Summit Christian Academy.

Valentine's Banquet

The students from Susanville Adventist Christian School served their community at the church’s annual Valentine Banquet.

Ski Trips

Four of our schools participate in ski programs that allow our students to have lessons and experience outdoor recreation. The older students in Bishop participate in weekly ski trips thanks in part to a local grant. Riverview Christian Academy coordinates a ski program and invites two of our smaller schools in Susanville and Fallon to join them. These are great opportunities for our students to develop their athletic skills while also enjoying God's creation and majestic views as they explore the slopes.

Goals for NUC Education

The NUC leadership team thanks all who took time to attend and participate in one of our three town hall meetings where we shared the goals for moving the mission forward in the Nevada Utah Conference. We have three main goals for NUC Education.

Encourage every church to support the ministry of Adventist Education
Encourage all educators to engage in professional development
Hire mission-minded and well-rounded teachers who share the values of NUC
