Dear FIBA Members,

We are proud to share that Wayne Shah, Chair of FIBA’s Education Committee, represented our association as a distinguished panelist at the G20 Social Summit, held from 18–20 November 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

As part of this high-level global convening, hosted by the South African Presidency, Wayne contributed to two key plenary sessions focused on expanding access to education and strengthening cross-border collaboration across the African continent.

PANELIST: WAYNE SHAH

Chair of FIBA’s Education Committee

FINANCING & IMPLEMENTATION MODELS: SCALING CROSS-BORDER HIGHER EDUCATION

A discussion centered on sustainable financing approaches, digital delivery frameworks, and public-private partnerships that can expand educational access across borders.

BUSINESS PANEL

An engaging conversation on the role of the private sector in enabling digital inclusion, fostering workforce development, and building effective pathways between education and employment.

These sessions form part of the G20 Social Summit’s mission to expand opportunity, address youth unemployment, and strengthen coordination ahead of formal G20 deliberations. Wayne’s participation ensured that FIBA’s voice —and our commitment to global collaboration— was represented on this international stage.

Advancing FIBA’s Global Mission

Wayne’s contribution strongly reinforces FIBA’s mission of building bridges as a global organization—connecting banks, regulators, educators, and industry leaders to improve cross-border understanding, elevate professional standards, and expand access to education throughout the financial sector.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Wayne for representing FIBA and for his continued leadership in advancing meaningful educational initiatives for our community.
