This year, we started a new Computer Education in Schools initiative to support local schools in their technology education classes.
Many schools in Santa Cruz have fully equipped computer labs; however, many teachers do not know how to use the equipment and are not prepared to teach students. In addition, the software is usually outdated, and the computers do not get regular servicing.
Amigos believes in the importance of supporting the existing education system and use the available resources. As part of this new Computer Education in Schools, we send an experienced instructor to train local teachers and give workshops to students. He is also supporting the schools by providing technical support.
Students need to learn the fundamentals of digital technologies. Access to technology education enhances their learning and increases the number of opportunities they are exposed to.
