The vegetable gardens will be a fun activity for the whole family while schools remain closed.

With the help of Amigos staff and their parents, our Reading Program students plant vegetables and herbs, like cilantro, radish, and cucumber, at their homes. This is an activity for the whole family, as we encourage their parents and siblings to participate as well.

The Home Family Gardens promote family bonding time and teach children about responsibility. Family gardening keeps kids engaged with learning while at home since public schools are still only operating part-time due to COVID-19 restrictions.

We'll check back in two months to update you on their first harvest!
