Education Success

It is abundantly clear that Education is best and most direct way to break the cycle of poverty. While originally, we started our work with building water wells to ensure better health, we quickly understood that CCDO can make the biggest difference in the lives of rural Cambodian children and their families through our support for education. 

We started small with one village school and now run the gamut from preschool to university education. We have programs in 29 preschools, continue on to Primary and Secondary and High Schools. We provide materials and teachers and training. We sponsor students at universities and spearhead a teacher-training program at 26 schools and 2 teacher training colleges. CCDO is going deep and wide, positively impacting the education system in Cambodia.

We started the new school year on 1 December by giving students certificates for their past year’s achievements. We proudly present a collage of the certificates.

While we celebrate the highest achieving students in their class, we also give encouragement by presenting certificates to children who are the most improved. This allows all the kids to be recognized for doing their personal best and giving them continued motivation to strive to be their best.



CCDO Distributes Uniforms

Admission to school requires a school uniform and study materials of books and pencils. Many rural families cannot afford this. Every year CCDO supplies 400 uniforms & study materials to 200 children at TaPang school as well as our iconic red t-shirts to 652 preschoolers.

Elaine Farge, visited Cambodia on our Travel with a Purpose trip about ten years ago in 2014. We are gratified to know that her personal experience still resonates to this day. She has just generously given $3,000 to help CCDO Education Program. Thank you, Elaine and we hope you will repeat the visit to see the incredible improvements and progress made in the rural schools. A new generation of children will bring a smile to your face!

A huge thanks to Moonlight Pizza in Salida, CO, who open their hearts to CCDO on the first Monday in December for a Moonlight Monday fundraiser.

Carol & Mark Duster coerce friends to eat Pizza and donate funds to CCDO. This year, Education and Breakfast program was top of the requests, although we did have a well and a latrine donated.
