My Education, Our Future: Outreach updates and numbers
Several times each year, we reach out to Utahns around the state to help them understand what we can do—individually and collectively—to improve education. For our most recent round of outreach, we created a  new video ad  focused on five broad strategies to improve education. We also continued promotion of our original My Education, Our Future  videos . Take a look at some of the results of our outreach from September to November this year:

  • Videos were seen online more than 3 million times (YouTube and Social Media)
  • TV ads reached 1.8 million people an average of 7 times
  • Beyond views, our social media posts reached half a million Utahns
  • Newsletters reached more than 20,000 people
  • 83% of Utahns rank improving education as important or very important

We're thrilled with the number of Utahns we've been able to reach—we hope you were one of them! Our outreach was made possible with support from our board members, steering committee, generous donors, and visionary Utahns like you! Look for our outreach next year as we work together to ensure every child gets a great education! Visit myeducationourfuture.org for more details.
What's your New Year's resolution for 2050?
Over the next two weeks, a whopping 73 percent of adult Utahns will make New Year’s resolutions, making us the most resolution-prone state in the country. That’s not entirely true—in fact we made it up. But 73 percent of Utahns think it’s important for Utah to have a plan to accommodate future growth. And isn’t that kind of the same thing?

A recent Dan Jones poll found that 73 percent of Utahns feel that planning for growth is “very important,” while only 6 percent say it is not important. Envision Utah has actually asked this question before in our 1997, 2007, and 2014 values studies, but with an important follow up: “How do you feel Utah is performing in making its plans for the future a reality?” The results tend to be a little more blasé—just over half of us feel we’re performing “fair” or “poor” when it comes to planning for the future, while only 3 percent of Utahns feel we’re performing excellent. That's why, just over three years ago, we brought together 53,000 Utahns to create Your Utah, Your Future— a statewide vision for 2050.
