PMPRF 2011 Annual Report
Upcoming Fundraising Events
The Reunion Cup has been helping to raise money for charities since 1996. For the last sixteen years the event participants have "Hacked and Duffed" their way to raising over $135,000 for various organizations. On Sunday September 2, 2012 at Mays Landing Golf & Country Club in Mays Landing, NJ, participants will be playing for the PMP Research Foundation. Find out more at www.reunioncupcharity.com.

Save the Date for the 14th Annual UMass Medicine Cancer Walk - Worcester, MA - Sunday, September 23, 2012. Check back on our website for details coming soon.

 

Leah Kasowitz is running the Hartford Marathon on October 13 to honor her friend Doug Selmont and raise funds for the PMP Research Foundation! Find out how you can support Leah in this awesome endeavor at leahsmarathon.pmpcure.org.

 

Save the date and stay tuned for more information on the Third Annual PMP Pub Crawl, scheduled for Saturday, October 20 in New Haven, CT. Last year's event raised an amazing $13,000 for PMP research! More info to come on our website or on our Facebook page. 

Upcoming Educational Events

Our next PMP Symposium event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Registration for this event is now open at the UMass Memorial website.

Meet Keynote speaker James F. Pingpank Jr., MD, Associate Professor of Surgery, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and hear from a variety of experts about the prevalence, the signs and symptoms, treatment options, and latest research. Topics presented include surgical and medical oncology perspectives, imaging for appendiceal cancer, insurance coverage, nutrition, exercise and wellness, and patient and family perspectives. 

Other Fundraising News

The PMP Research Foundation was at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday, August 28 when the Phillies hosted the New York Mets. Net proceeds from tickets sold through this offer benefited the PMP Research Foundation. Thanks to all who attended this event.

 

We are excited to announce that our newest Walk/Run event, the Appendix Cancer Awareness 5K Walk/Run took place in Newark, DE on Sunday, August 19, 2012 and was a huge success, raising nearly 200% of their goal. Thanks to everyone who participated in this event!

 

Thanks to all who joined and sponsored us this past June 17th at our Sixth Annual PMP Cancer Awareness Walk and our first Dad's Day 5K in Newtown Square, PA on Sunday, June 17, 2012. This year this event raised over $40,000 for PMP research and education.
