We want to say thank you to our teachers and parents who visited onsite and/or joined us virtually this year. Mission San Juan Capistrano continued to be a favorite Field Trip destination and proudly welcomed the return of field trips students on the historic grounds.
Onsite field trip tours and experiences are STILL AVAILABLE for this school year. There is limited availability so please call our Group Bookings Department and find out what days and time slots are available for you and your classroom to visit California Landmark #200 at (949) 234-1306.
Make sure to join us for Teacher Appreciation Day! Teachers receive FREE Admission and a 15% OFF discount in the Mission Store. For the month of May, Teacher Appreciation Day will be help on Saturday, May 21.

MISSION DEBUTS NEW EXHIBIT
|
|
|
California Missions in Oil Featuring Award-Winning Plein Air Artist Saim Caglayan Now On Display
|
Come explore Mission San Juan Capistrano's newest exhibit, "California Missions in Oil" featuring beautiful artworks by award-winning plein air artist Saim Caglayan. This limited time exhibit captures the current day aesthetic of California's most renown missions and will be on display now through July 10, 2022. Nearly 30 paintings, including those shown below are available for viewing and/or purchase.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the exhibit's paintings will benefit the preservation of historic Mission San Juan Capistrano.
You can view the new "California Missions in Oil" exhibit open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Access to view the new exhibit is included with membership or the price of admission. This is a limited opportunity for the public to purchase exclusive, authentic plein air artworks.

FIELD OF HONOR RETURNS THIS MONTH
|
|
|
Field of Honor® Returns to the Mission Memorial Day Weekend In Partnership with HomeFront America
|
Beginning Tuesday, May 24 through Monday, May 30, nearly 400 beautiful American flags will be on display in Mission San Juan Capistrano’s Central Courtyard as part of the 2022 Field of Honor partnership with Homefront America. The captivating display honors active military, veterans, first responders, as well as K-9 and equestrian heroes.
During this special display, active duty, veterans, first responders and Mission Members (with identification) will also receive FREE ADMISSION (May 24-May 30). The Mission will be open on Monday, May 30 for limited hours from as part of the program from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Anyone can sponsor a flag to honor their loved one who has served as a member of the military, veteran, and/or first responder. Flag sponsorships are $50 each with proceeds benefiting Homefront America’s charitable programs for military families.

Back by popular demand, Outside SCR returns this summer with “Million Dollar Quartet!” Mission San Juan Capistrano is excited to partner with South Coast Repertory to provide you the opportunity to gather outdoors and experience family-friendly, world-class theatre July 30 through August 21.
On Dec. 4, 1956, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins gathered for one night to play music and ended up making history. This Tony Award-nominated musical takes us inside one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll jam sessions ever recorded with four legendary musicians doing what they loved most: expressing life’s joy and sadness through song. Described as “dazzling” by New York Magazine and “wildly entertaining” by Hollywood Reporter, "Million Dollar Quartet" will have you rocking down memory lane with more than 20 chart-topping hits like “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “I Walk the Line” and “Who Do You Love.”

Gather your watercolor painting supplies together for this special Paint the Mission class lead by Mission Education Staff Artist in Residence, Melanie Rayburn. This class is designed to be enjoyed with the family and is accessible to people of all ages and levels of experience. To paint along with this livestream, we recommend the following supplies: watercolor paints, paint brush, watercolor paper, pencil, and water for dipping your paint brush.
