Hi Friends!

Welp, it has been such a long time! Didn't mean to ghost you, but in addition to my general procrastination tendencies, and my depths of despair about the state of our Earth, I've had technical issues on my websites (yes I have to manage TWO now!).

It all started with wanting to build out a really dynamic tour website, which led to having to migrate my shop website, which I thought meant I had to change my newsletter platform! Lisa and I were trying to learn this new system and then only last night just figured out how to keep using the one we're familiar with. LONG STORY SHORT, I'm doing all I can to muster up my particular brand of 'delusional optimism', because after this long hot summer (see photo of my sweaty back), and all these tech challenges, I am super drained.

Looking on the bright side: both websites are now operational! (YAY bare minimum!)

The tour website is pretty great (even though my brain still sees the flaws and changes I want to make). Head over there to book public and private tours. Our 'Summer Schedule' is ending soon. For the next couple of weeks, we'll still have the Wednesday and Thursday afternoon history walking tours, and the Saturday afternoon cocktail tour 'History with a Twist'.

The 'Winter Schedule' will kick off in November with some new experiences, including a Swizzle Walk and a Shopping and Art Tour! The new schedule will be in the next week's newsletter (Yep, you and I are back together because you forgave me for ghosting you.)

The shop website has a ways to go, but never you mind... it'll get there and soon I hope! The main thing for now is that we are taking PREORDERS for a new social enterprise we'll be featuring in the shop, "Canaan Palestine". This organisation works with over 4,000 artisan family farms spanned across 50 different villages. We are currently taking pre-orders to determine demand and make the largest possible order from this important organisation.  Please place your order soon! 15% of proceeds will be donated to Heal Palestine.

So that's it for now... thanks for reading! And I'll be back soon. Pinky swear bestie!

See you in St. Gorgeous,

Kristin (and the team at Long Story Short)

About the Artisans:

These baskets are beautifully made by women in some of the poorest parts of Bangladesh, many of whom are widows, single mothers or heads-of-household with little or no income. Handcrafting income helps these talented artisans improve their standard of living and send their children to school.

With sales of their handmade products, more than 1,000 women at ten handcraft centres receive skill training and productive employment, regardless of their caste or creed. The use of sustainable, natural materials enhances their commitment to integrity, simplicity, and non-violence, and their focus on employment rather than maximised profits helps preserve the cultural heritage of Bangladesh.
