I think there are a lot of audiophiles out there who do not know that high-efficiency horn speakers are capable of effortlessly energizing a room much more effectively than a low-efficiency box speaker.
I suppose most audiophiles start out with low-sensitivity box speakers and for whatever reason never try a high-sensitivity horn speaker, and therefore never learn how capable they are.
By contrast, I started out right from the get-go with the dynamics and effortless power delivery of Klipsch La Scalas and didn't realize how much more capable they were because I had so little exposure to box speakers when I was younger.
When I got into the business fifteen years ago, and was exposed to a wide range of speakers at the shows, mostly low-efficiency box speakers, I learned that no matter how large or expensive those box speakers are, or how much power is being fed into them, they simply cannot match the effortless dynamics and live presentation I enjoyed from my old Klipsch La Scalas when I was a young man, and they are certainly no match for my Volti Audio speakers.
The key word here in all this is 'effortless'. Sure, you can put hundreds of watts of power into big box speakers and energize a room, but there is a BIG difference in the quality of that energized sound when hundreds of watts are used as opposed to putting twenty watts of power into a pair of Volti Audio speakers - even the little Razz.
The distortion levels are so much higher on those inefficient speakers, and you can hear the drivers straining under the load. It's not a good sound. Congested is a word that comes to mind. At any audio show you can find at least one room with cone breakup distortion! Yikes!
Turning up the volume on your set of Volti speakers is exactly the opposite. The music comes alive and it's an experience that is exciting and addictive. With far less power being fed into them, the distortion levels are nil, with nary a hint of strain on the drivers. Even at intense volume levels these speakers are nowhere near their limit. The music is clear, the soundstage is huge, the imaging precise, and with dynamics and impact that are very similar to what you hear at live musical performances.
