Office of Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez

Dear Friend and Neighbor,

As millions around the world break their Ramadan fast today, I would like to give special acknowledgement to the many New Yorkers observing this important day of the Islamic calendar, and wish "Eid Mubarak," or, a blessed breaking of your fast

Today, the last day of Ramadan, is one of major significance to the Islamic community.  Ramadan is a month long period of self reflection and spiritual enlightenment, where people of the Muslim faith fast every day from sunrise to sunset. This is meant to recognize the importance of self-discipline in our lives as well as the need to act selflessly and remember those without.

I hope that we can all take these ideals and remember them each day in our own lives, regardless of our respective faith.

Sincerely,

Ydanis Rodriguez,

Council Member, Northern Manhattan
