Eid al-Adha Prayer and celebration 
Date: Wednesday, May 27

Venue: Eastern Athletic Fields

400 N Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing

This outdoor venue is to the north of UM-Sparrow Hospital.

Gathering and Takbeerat - 9:00 am 

Prayer followed by sermon - 9:30 am

After the prayer, children can enjoy a variety of fun activities on-site, including bounce houses, face painting, balloon twisting, and a trackless train ride.

Please bring a prayer rug and a bag for your footwear.

Temperatures are expected to be between 65F-75F, so a spring jacket will come in handy.

Parking is free but fills up quickly. Traffic delays possible owing to single point of entry. Please plan to arrive early, as traffic delays may occur due to the single-lane road leading to the parking area.

We will hold an early Eid prayer at 7:00 AM at the masjid for those who have school or are unable to take time off from work. However, as Eid is a time of communal celebration, we warmly encourage you and your family to join us for the main gathering at the Eastern Athletic Fields.

At our last Eid prayer gathering at the Lansing Center in March, a few individuals who were not affiliated with the event attempted to provoke attendees. Should this occur again at Eid al-Adha, we kindly ask everyone to refrain from engaging with them and to ignore their remarks. Their intention is to create disruption and distract us from our prayers, celebration, and community gathering. 
We also respectfully ask that no one attempt to engage in dawah or debate in that setting, as it is neither the appropriate time nor place.

Fasting is strongly recommended on the day of Arafa'a— Tuesday, May 26. Those who are fasting are welcome to break their fast at the Islamic Center of East Lansing— iftar will be porvided.
