Dear Eighth Grade Families,

Thank you for your patience as we finalize details of this year’s Eighth Grade Closing Ceremony.

The ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 3rd, at 9:00 a.m. on Hondros Field. Students should arrive at school by 8:05 a.m. (regular dropoff time) and dressed for the ceremony. For the ceremony, eighth-graders should wear dress pants (no shorts), dresses, skirts, button-down shirts, ties, sports jackets (optional) and dress shoes. Sneakers, flip flops, crocs and other non-formal footwear are not permitted.

Each student may have up to six family members present for the ceremony, and family members will be seated together in pods socially distanced from other groups. Once the ceremony is over, students will change back into dress code and continue with the special activities for the day.

Parking in the athletics lot will not be allowed until after 8:30 a.m. so as not to interfere with morning dropoff for the Lower School. If you are staying on campus after dropping off your eighth-grader, please park in the lots on both sides of the middle/upper school dropoff circle.

Unfortunately, due to the constraints of COVID, there will not be a reception following the ceremony. Students will have a limited amount of time to return to the Middle School and change their clothes. In the event there is rain or inclement weather, a pre-recorded closing ceremony video will be sent out to all eighth grade families. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2025 as these impressive students complete another step in their academic journey. If you have any questions, please contact me.
