Eighth Navajo Mission report 2018
Yaateeh!
Well, it’s almost over. The mission draws to a close. We’ve had many successes and a few, we’ll just chalk those up to experience.

Tuesday, four of us met Sr. Genevieve (Jenny) and Sr. Jean at the Desert House of Prayer near Window Rock, AZ. They requested two bathroom sinks be replaced. It’s hard to believe that Sr. Jenny dedicated over 50 years of her life to the House of Prayer. With the help of her father and Franciscan Friars, she built a beautiful prayer Hogan. Sr. Jean had spent several years ministering at St. Mary of the Rosary Mission in Pinon, AZ. They are amazing prayerful and practical women with a great sense of humor.
Rydell Curly with his family and friends treated us to a wonderful dinner, traditional music, and an inspirational message. He presented to the women a traditional planting stick made of greasewood. Rydell spoke at the 2016 Faith Promise Dinner.

Wednesday, all of us remained at Our Lady of Fatima and finished projects already started. Today, after high heat, the winds picked up with blowing sand, high clouds, and a possibility of rain on Saturday.
In the evening the parish and community will hold a dinner for us. It is always a fun and friendly gathering. Pass the Blue Corn Mush and Fry Bread!
Thursday is our last half day of projects. The afternoon will be spent cleaning and organizing for the trip home on early Friday.

Please pray for those driving the tool van and those driving to Albuquerque and then flying to Midway.

A big `Ahe’ hee’ to Fr. P Jey, Sr. Theresa, Maryline, and all those we met while on mission.

Larry
