  BALTIMORE CRAFT SHOW
 SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23
 There is still time to join our annual trip to the BALTIMORE CRAFT SHOW. Here you will see the nation's highest caliber artisans displaying and selling their work in wood, glass, clay, jewelry, leather, metal and textiles. In the afternoon, we are offering an optional visit the BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART. COST: $85 includes bus and admission to the BALTIMORE CRAFT SHOW.
BALTIMORE MUSEUMS ONLY Skip the CRAFT SHOW and spend the day viewing the rich collections and wonderful special exhibits at the BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART www.artbma.org or the WALTERS ART MUSEUM www.thewalters.org Both museums are free and transportation to one or both of them will be provided   BUS COST: $70.
 
ANDY WARHOL at the WHITNEY
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20
Travel downtown to the Meatpacking District to see ANDY WARHOL- FROM A TO B AND BACK AGAIN at the WHITNEY MUSEUM  It is the first US retrospective of the artist since 1989. Here is Holland Carter's  review from the NY Times:
Walk the the adjacent High Line if the weather allows and explore shops and galleries in nearby CHELSEA. An optional lunch will be planned. Our bus will drop off at the WHITNEY. Return  transportation back to mid-town for departure will be coordinated on that day. BUS: $75. It is advisable to purchase timed tickets in advance. We are happy to help with this.
 
EPIC ABSTRACTION, HILDA of KLINT, LEONARD COHEN and more!

So often the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART is the main destination of our trips to NEW YORK and for good reason. EPIC ABSTRACTION, a new ongoing exhibit at the MET features 50 large scale works from the 1940s into the 21st century. A few blocks away, at the GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM, see the bold and beautiful paintings of Swedish artist HILMA OF KLINT before it closes. The JEWISH MUSEUM at 92nd and 5th is offering, LEONARD COHEN- A CRACK IN EVERYTHING, a contemporary art exhibit devoted entirely to the imagination and legacy of the legendary singer/songwriter and global icon from Montreal. BUS COST: $75. All museum prices are additional. Drop-off and and pick up are guaranteed at the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART on this trip. PS: Tickets are still available if you wish to join our small group already going to see GLENDA JACKSON in KING LEAR on BROADWAY

OBAMA PORTRAITS at the NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY

WASHINGTON, D.C.
THURSDAY, APRIL 25
Travel with us to WASHINGTON and join our private tour at the NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY where portraits of President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle are on view.  Visit the adjacent NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART, and have lunch in the cafe in the dramatic courtyard that connects the two museums designed by Foster and Partners. This once was the US Patent Office going back to 1836  A few blocks away is the NATIONAL GALLERY OF ART where three exhibits celebrating the 500th anniversary of Venetian artist JACOBO TINTORETTO are on view. BUS COST: $80. All Smithsonian museums are free.

GREENWICH VILLAGE WALK
WEDNESDAY, MAY 1
Join our special walking tour in GREENWICH VILLAGE  The tour will be led once again by a guide from New York's award-winning tour company BIG ONION WALKING TOURS. The VILLAGE has been home to artists, writers and radicals, and our tour will offer a special emphasis on the history and architecture of the area. Stops might include: the JEFFERSON MARKET COURTHOUSE, the STONEWALL INN and sites associated with Aaron Burr, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, Stanford White, John Sloan and Thomas Paine. An optional lunch will be planned. COST: $125 for the bus and the tour.  

FRIDA KAHLO at the BROOKLYN MUSEUM
THURSDAY, MAY 9
FRIDA KAHLO: APPEARANCES CAN BE DECEIVING is the largest  US exhibit on view in ten years devoted to the beloved Mexican artist. Her paintings, drawings, photography along with a collection of her clothing and personal possessions will be displayed. The BROOKLYN MUSEUM'S extensive holdings of Mesoamerican Art provides a backdrop for this extraordinary exhibition. In addition, the BROOKLYN MUSEUM is a vast treasure-trove of American and European art, arts of Asia, Africa, the Islamic world and more!. Springtime blossoms will be at their peak for you to enjoy at the adjacent BROOKLYN BOTANIC GARDEN. BUS COST: $75 Admission to the museum and garden are additional. 

VISIT GLENSTONE
SATURDAY, MAY 25
Immerse yourself in art, architecture and nature on our very first visit to GLENSTONE to see the vast modern and contemporary art collection of Emily and Richard Rales, located in POTOMAC, MARYLAND, fifteen miles from Washington, D.C. The museum contains more than 1300 artworks from all over the world. GLENSTONE recently reopened to the public after a significant expansion with a new museum complex called THE PAVILLIONS designed by American Architect Thomas Phifer who was infuenced by the Ryoan-ji Zen Temple in Kyoto, Japan. GLENSTONE is situated  on 230 acres of landscape which includes paths, streams, meadows forests and wonderful outdoor sculpture.. Brunch is included at a nearby restaurant before our early afternoon visit. COST: $135 including brunch.

SWAN LAKE at the AMERICAN BALLET THEATER
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26
Join our group for a delightful summer Saturday at LINCOLN CENTER. We have ORCHESTRA PREMIUM seating for a performance of SWAN LAKE bY the AMERICAN BALLET THEATER at the METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE . Tchaikovsky's quintessential ballet will be presented by the company's remarkable corp de ballet and will feature principle dancers Devon Teuscher and Aran Bell. An optional lunch will be planned near Lincoln Center. COST: $175 for the ticket and the bus. . We will pick you up and drop you off at LINCOLN CENTER.
 
 
OUR DAY TRIPS provide a safe and comfortable ride with a congenial group of travelers. You have the option of joining the special activities we have planned or you may "do your own thing". DEPARTURE POINTS in the Philadelphia area are near City Line Avenue and Rittenhouse Square. On our trips to NEW YORK, we we always have a drop off in the theater district and midtown. Other drop-offs might  depend upon special events we are offering. Departures points are from midtown Manhattan, and often from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The bus cost for NEW YORK DAY TRIPS is $75.
