Louis Galambos presents Eisenhower: Becoming the Leader of the Free World
Abilene, Kan. - The next Lunch & Learn program is Thursday, April 25 at 12 p.m. in the Eisenhower Presidential Library Visitors Center Auditorium, 200 SE 4th, Abilene. Free and open to the public, a light lunch is provided on a first come, first serve basi s. There will be a sign-language interpreter for the program.

As the longtime  editor of The Papers of Dwight David Eisenhower , Louis Galambos probably knows as much  about the military hero turned commander in chief  as  anyone alive. In a discussion of his new book  Eisenhower: Becoming the Leader of the Free World , Galambos will explore   how Ike developed his distinctive leadership style,  as well as  re a ppraisals of his reputation over the years.   With the help of his mentor General Fox Conner,  Eisenhower learned to profit from mistakes and  readjust his course of action .  As president , he embraced compromise and coalition building.

Galambos is Research Professor and Editor of The Papers of Dwight David Eisenhower at the Johns Hopkins University. In addition to the Eisenhower Papers, Galambos has published numerous books and articles on modern America, the modern corporation, and the importance of entrepreneurship.

Eisenhower’s Middle Road exhibit continues on display at the Kansas City Public Library, 14 W. 10th St., Kansas City, Mo., where Galambos will also present at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24. This exhibit and associated programming is made possible by a grant to the Eisenhower Foundation from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City.
