Our Partnership and Placement for

the 24-25 School Year!

Dear Eisenhower Families,

With the promise of a spring filled with growth and the determination for a strong finish towards our final reporting period, we want to take a moment to celebrate our home-to-school partnership that has been forged over these past eight months.

In doing so, we know that our students will balance good work habits with their many after school activities that play an important role in their social and physical development. Whether it is joining an organized sport or continuing along their development in other community, regional, and national organizations, we know that all of our students will find an opportunity to follow their pursuits.

In order to help us with student placement and transportation needs, we ask that you please register this weekend for the 2024-2025 school year.

Have a Wonderful Weekend,

Your Eisenhower Family

Early Childhood

News

This month in early childhood, we have been studying gardens. The students have been learning about what you can find in a garden, how to take care of a garden, and the life cycle of a plant. In the fall, we planted flower bulbs in our school garden. This week, the students went on a garden walk and admired all the flowers that bloomed from the bulbs they planted. We also wrote in our journals about the various flowers we saw and went on a letter hunt.

Kindergarten

News

We are continuing to focus on narrative vs informative writing. This week our kindergarteners took a deep dive into the life cycle of a frog. We read the story "Growing Frogs" and broke down the story by narrative text and informative text. The students then practiced writing their own narrative sentences and informative sentences.

First Grade

News

Students have begun a new unit in literacy. In this unit, they will recognize that good things can happen when a person is brave enough to try something new. They will read about inventors, architects, and others who have been brave and tried new things. They will find that people can meet challenges and solve problems through perseverance. The students will discover that by persevering, they can achieve their own dreams.

Century Book Club Readers!

The Principal's Century Book Club is a listing of children who read multiples of one hundred books during their years at Eisenhower School.

*Books can be read by parents or enjoy a shared reading with your child. Take turns, use voices, and, most importantly, have fun!

Remember to ask plenty of comprehension questions and discuss new vocabulary words!

Your child’s name will be added to the front foyer wall when they read their first one hundred books. Their name continues to be added with each 100 books they read.

Students will also receive a special prize from the office.

Books should be at the child’s reading level, and left to parent’s discretion.

Below, is a link to a form that you can download and print.

You may also list the books on a sheet of paper.

Setting aside 20-minutes a night for family reading with or to your child makes a world of difference.
