A Summer of Service
The summer is almost over. The leaves are beginning to change and the air will soon turn cooler. As we look back over the last few months we can say, "What an amazing God we have who has produced so much fruit in his kingdom in Port Orchard." We have let our light shine so that people have seen our good works and gave glory to our Father in heaven! What did God do this Summer?
He worked at the Food Bank. He worked in peoples yards. He moved furniture. He mowed grass. He sold t-shirts, baked goods, raffle tickets, bottled water at a car show. He raised money for tiny houses for the homeless. He built tiny houses for the homeless. Again and again and again and again! He saw knew people come into his kingdom! He saw us connect with new people at fair grounds, on beaches, in parks, on downtown Bay Street, in parking lots and back yards. He saw us pray together, have ladies' tea together, camp together, fish together, bbq together, eat together, worship together and share our needs together. We continued to learn what it meant to live together in community. The summer may be almost over but a busy Fall is just about to begin. There will be many opportunities to connect with people in our community. It's just the rhythm of our life. Living among people who need to know Jesus demands for us to do all we can to seek out opportunities to love them into a relationship with the Savior.
