May 13th- 8am Tiny Home Building Party
A Tiny Home Village For the Homeless Begins!
Ekklesia has stepped forward and committed to building two tiny homes for the homeless on Saturday, May 13th. The First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard has also committed to join us that day and will also purchase one of the prototype tiny house kits. The build party will occur in the parking lot in front of That One Place restaurant and just behind AutoZone ...1386 Lund Ave. in Port Orchard. The first three prototypes will be placed in local parking lots, shopping malls and down by the Kitsap County Court House to advertise this new project. The South Kitsap High School has also committed to building one of the tiny houses inside one of their shop classes over the next few months. Funds are needed to build more tiny homes ( only $2095.00 each!) and to develop the property where the new community for the homeless will be placed. The Kitsap County United Way has agreed to receive and process all donated funds. This will enable all donations to be tax deductible. This new ministry is in it's infancy and led by many of our Kitsap County officials who have partnered with local churches and service clubs. This project is envisioned to have a twelve tiny homes clustered into a village in South Kitsap. Then another village with twelve homes will be placed in Central Kitsap and another in North Kitsap. Ours will be the prototype for the county. What an amazing opportunity to be light in our dark world, to help the least among us and share hope for those who have given up on our world.
The Tiny Home prototype model Ekklesia will build.

Youth Retreat at Ocean Shores Was Great
Ten youth from Ekklesia enjoyed the weekend last week out at the Youth Retreat at Ocean Shores. Sarah and Ryan Pyke were the chaperones for the event and Billie Hanson and Lisa Blair were the cooks. It was a great time to enjoy God's creation, great food and lots of fun. Thank you to the Port Orchard Church of Christ for inviting us to come along!
