The Church Going Out Into the Community
The people of God should be known for what they do for others in the community and not by their building's physical location. We are surrounded by people in need. What would happen if Jesus people spread across our communities seeking people to help, bless and serve. Then the story of Jesus would flow like a river into every neighborhood and home transforming lives.
This week several Ekklesia people worked at a lady's home by the name of Sandy. Last year Sandy's husband died of cancer and she has been unable to do any outside clean up for years. Her home is in serious need of attention but she has no relatives in the area to assist her. So, Ekklesia has come along side her to encourage and lift her spirit. On Tuesday the Ekklesia workers made two dump runs with a truck loaded with debris from her yard. We've got so much more to do, though!

A truck load ready for the dump from Sandy's home

As a follow up, a larger group of workers will be descending on Sandy's place this Sunday (11:30-3pm) in an effort to do more clean up, debris hauling and general landscaping around her house. We will need young and old to help pick up the vast piles of wood and debris and load them into a large dump truck that John Iverson is providing. All workers should bring gloves, work clothes, bottled water, landscaping tools such as loppers, hand trimmers, rakes and chainsaws.

1. Sandy's yard.. all ages needed.... following the morning gathering
2. Food bank food drive- Ekklesia will be holding a food drive at Walmart on Bethel Rd. on Sunday, April 10th following our morning abbreviated worship gathering. Melissa Bell will be coordinating this project at Walmart.

Youth Slumber Party- Friday Night!
The youth are all invited over to the Bell home on Friday evening at 6:30pm. All boys and girls will play games and hang out till 8:30pm. At that time the boys will leave and stay at Ryan Pyke's home and the girls will remain at the Bell home. Pick up will be at 9am on Saturday morning.

Family Retreat at Ocean Shores
We would like to remind families and individuals that Ekklesia will again be holding their annual Spring retreat at Ocean Shores over the Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29. We will share meals together, play together, walk the beach together and worship together. RVs are welcome and will help house the many families attending. Please let Tim know if you are interested in attending.

Thank you
Hey.... it's spring time! The people of our community are excited to get outside and enjoy the sunshine, when it appears! We are so blessed to be doing work that is changing lives and thrilling to be involved with. Thank you for allowing Lisa and me to be working with Ekklesia and connecting with people who need to know Jesus!
