Serving People in Need
True worship is helping people in need. This is what Jesus expects and what we truly love to do!

Here are several opportunities to serve people in the next few weeks!
1. Camp Seymour volunteers needed on Sunday evening, Aug. 28th. Ekklesia members James and Angela Goodman will be directing the Military Youth Camp that begins this Sunday. James needs helpers to run a large activity at the camp at 7pm on Sunday evening. This camp will be serving children of military personnel who are or will be deploying in the near future. Camp Seymour is the YMCA camp out on the Key Peninsula. Let's do this!
2. Needy Family- moving into Rick Bell's Bremerton Duplex in a few days. A mom, dad and baby will be moving in with only a bed. They will need everything else needed for living in the duplex. i.e.... towels, dishes, cups,...
3. Back to School Supplies- new Ekklesia member Marena Woodbury has four children returning to school in two weeks. She will have one kindergartner, one first grader, one second grader and one fifth grader. To access the on-line supply list for Orchard Heights School see-
4. Service Project in Ekklesia Family's yard- a group will be working in the yard of an Ekklesia family this Sunday- bring bush trimmers, loppers, gloves and other tools.

Marena and Victor- with their five children at the 4th of July picnic

Clayton Park Gathering Next Sunday, September 4th
We have postponed the end of Summer park gathering till next Sunday, Sept. 4th. There was a possibility of rain on the 28th, so we will meet this Sunday in the Parkwood Club. On the 4th everyone is encouraged to bring something to BBQ and a side dish to share. Bring your own lawn chair and have a great time of worship and fellowship.

  Tiny House Homeless Village Update
Every week we have moved forward with this amazing new ministry developed by God. A very productive meeting occurred this week with another new organization very interested in doing the case management for the new homeless village. Please pray for us over the next few weeks as meetings continue to occur developing a plan that will encompass the areas of law enforcement, housing contractors, architects, social service specialists, local church leaders and willing volunteers.  A piece of property is already secured (owned by our partnering organization) and only needs permitting issues to be worked out. As these issues are processed we will begin having coordinating meetings with many local church leaders who have expressed a great desire to partner with us. God is moving! Please pray for us to be led by the Spirit through every decision and that our efforts will be surrounded in protection by God.

Thank you
Ministry is filled with opportunities. Lisa and I are grateful to have been given this ministry to the Port Orchard community as new people come into our lives to serve and love. We continue to be blessed with the knowledge that so many of you are praying for us. Thank you for your support.
