Ekklesia- Our Purpose
Ekklesia Church is a community of people who believe that Jesus' church should be a loving, serving, helping and transforming group of people.
CHURCH- We believe that "church" is about loving people and loving God. It is more than experiencing a worship gathering once a week.
GATHERING- The "gathering" on Sunday is our half-time at the football game where we plan, encourage, connect and energize each other for another week of service in Jesus' kingdom.
WORSHIP- The real game or "worship service" is what happens everyday as we live in our community seeking to make life better for others and draw people into a closer relationship with Jesus. We take the words of Jesus seriously when he stated:
"proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind,to set the oppressed free." (Lk.4:18). God also stated to Isaiah the real type of worship He desired,  "to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter - when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?...if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness. (Isaiah 58:6-7,10)
When we bless our community in the name of Jesus...We will all be blessed! This is the purpose of Ekklesia! We are "called out" into our community to be the hands and feet of Jesus making his message of love and transformation real.
