Loving One Another
Jesus said, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35 It's really easy to love people who like you and complement you all the time. It's easy to love people that are similar to you, like the things you like, agree with your beliefs, and do the same things you do. It's so much easier to love people that have similar life experiences as you. Jesus' words become a challenge when we really try to act upon them and love people that are different, don't like us, believe differently, act differently and just would rather not be around us.
We are all called to love people no mater the differences!
Love is unconditional. Love doesn't look at the problems but looks at the possibilities. Love is a gift to everyone because they deserve it. Love drives our pursuit to help, support, connect, serve and share our personal life with others.
In the first few years of the church back in the first century A.D. the followers of Jesus met on Sundays and called their gathering the "Love Feast." They would meet together around a common table to eat and show love for one another no matter their economic situation whether slave or master in the Roman Empire. They just practiced the words of Jesus and loved one another equally.
On Sunday, the Ekklesia gathering will be more than a Valentines Day Party, it will be a love feast where Jesus people will express their love for one another. We will eat together, sit around tables together, and share our love for Jesus and each other. It will be a love feast for sure!

The Pavilion Is Closing- New Gathering
Ekklesia has been so blessed over the last three years to have been allowed to use the downtown location called the Pavilion as our primary gathering place on Sunday mornings. Ekklesia is a mobile church dedicated to being active and seen in the community. We aren't interested in focusing our identity around a specific location. We want to be known for who we are and what we do in the community and not for our weekly location. So, as the Pavilion and it's leaders plan to close their event center on Bay Street, Ekklesia will pray about a new location that we will use as our gathering spot. We will ask God to place us somewhere in Port Orchard that will impact people and allow us to filter regularly out into the neighborhoods to bless others. The gathering spot will be our launch pad into the community. We will use our house churches in the same way. So, it really doesn't matter where we are located as long as we see our city as a mission field that needs Jesus. We will keep you posted as the Pavilion winds down it's operation and liquidates it's equipment and furniture. The next few weeks will be interesting and fluid. So, stay prepared for optional gathering locations in the coming weeks.

The Pavilion in Downtown Port Orchard is Closing- March 15th

Ekklesia Leadership Meeting Saturday
Ekklesia leaders will have their monthly meeting Saturday evening at the Cartwright home. Everyone is invited to gather around 6:30pm for a potluck meal to share then  the meeting will follow. Everyone is encouraged to come prepared to discuss their Action Items (AI) that they were assigned to work on. We will also need to discuss possible new locations for our Sunday gatherings.

Thank you
It may be February but the weather in Port Orchard is warming up and the feeling of Spring is in the air. We are blessed by the new life in our ministry as new people gather with our new church. Thank you to all our supporters that pour themselves into our work financially and with their time!
