Ekklesia- New People and New Families
Ekklesia Church is a community of people who desire to change Port Orchard into a better place to live and find purpose. New people are coming to Ekklesia with a desire to participate in a church that is more than a gathering on Sunday. We are a collection of people on mission to bless, serve and make Jesus real to this community. With this intention we continue to see new people become a part of this new movement of Jesus. These new Ekklesia partners are individuals, moms and dads and many new children or youth. They are new to Port Orchard or have spent their whole life here. They are active leaders in the community, military, blue collar workers, construction workers, shipyard workers, restaurant workers, social workers and willing to get their hands dirty to serve others! Many became a part of Ekklesia because they were served on one occasion and heard God's call to become part of this new church. Many of you who read our newsletter live in other towns, states or attend other churches. So for your benefit I'd like to introduce a few of our new Ekklesia partners who have connected with us over the last year.

Buckley family               Elizabeth Herrera              Goodman family

David Shaw         Criswell family      Katy Stefanoff         Parry Family

Steele family        Sarah Blair & Ryan Pyke Craig Thomas   Martinez family

                        Blackwell family                                          Iverson family
As new people partner with Ekklesia in the coming year may we all grow in our love for Jesus, our love for people and our love for this community!

Blessing the Homeless- Care Packages
This Sunday, Ekklesia will have an early and abbreviated worship gathering. As part of our time together we'd like to gather hygiene and emergency supplies for the homeless in order to create "Care Packages" that can be distributed to people in our community. Ekklesia members interact on a weekly basis with people struggling on the streets who need basic supplies to maintain their hygiene. We'd like to collect the following supplies and then put them together into "Care Packages" on Sunday morning at the end of our gathering time. These "care packages" can be given to local homeless shelters or stored in your car for those you may see in need of help.  Ekklesia people love feeling armed in these situations and these kits are a simple way to show how much you care.
Please use the following suggest supply list and bring your items Sunday morning to the Pavilion.

Memorial Service for Nicholas Mauldin
Ekklesia has been asked to assist with the memorial service for Nicholas Mauldin who died in a car accident on Sunday evening on Sidney Rd. Tim Blair will be presiding at the memorial and has been working with the grieving family. The memorial will be held at 3pm on Sunday afternoon, January 10th at the Port Orchard Church of Christ. Ekklesia will be assisting with the finger food meal immediately following the memorial in the fellowship hall of the Church of Christ.
