The Wedding Feast of the Church

Someday we all look forward to a wonderful gathering around tables as we enjoy a reunion with our Savior Jesus in our new home in heaven. Until that time we will have glimpses of that occasion here on earth. One such glimpse occurred last Sunday as many Ekklesia members and family friends gathered at Manchester State Park for a time of celebration joining Ryan Pyke and Sarah Blair in marriage. The reception afterwards was more than a party time. It was a time where the church gathered to celebrate a wedding and to celebrate the gift of Jesus life through the observance of a communion service. We listened to scriptures read by Devon and also broke bread together that was prepared on each table. What a gift of life and love whenever the Church or "Ekklesia" meets. The church is the bride of Jesus and we look forward to our own wedding feast someday in heaven. In the mean time let's continue going good, loving a hurting community and showing the light of Jesus everyday.

Kids Park Day- Next Wednesday, Aug. 3rd
All Ekklesia families and kids are invited out to Horseshoe Lake Park for a day of fun next Wednesday, 1-4 pm. Transportation and coordination this coming week will be led by Lisa Blair. Everyone is encouraged to bring a sack lunch, lawn chairs and anything else need for park fun. There will be updated info on Facebook on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Tiny House Village for the Homeless
Over the last few months the Ekklesia leadership has been meeting with several community leaders and other interested parties in order to develop a parcel of land into a village of tiny houses available to local homeless persons. Unfortunately the family who made their parcel of land available to us as a potential place to develop such a village has withdrawn their offer. Ekklesia, however, will only follow God's leading and knows that a future much brighter awaits us if only we will await His plan. In the intervening weeks since the change in proposed parcels, several new opportunities and locations for a tiny house village have been presented by community leaders. It is amazing how the interest has grown in our community and we (Ekklesia) keep receiving proposed partnerships in e-mail inquiries every few days. Let us dedicate ourselves to prayer as we receive many new proposals and let the Lord open the doors. Our task to be ready and in prayer at all times. The Lord is the builder and we are his workers.

Thank you
Ministry is filled with opportunities. Lisa and I are grateful to have been given this ministry to the Port Orchard community as new people come into our lives to serve and love. We continue to be blessed with the knowledge that so many of you are praying for us. Thank you for your support.
