Ekklesia is About
Teaching and Doing
Ekklesia maintains a balance in our church focusing on the story of Jesus. This means we want to live and act like Jesus. Everywhere Jesus went he helped people and he taught people about the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus even told his followers, "Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men." His process of making fishers of men or "apprenticeship" wasn't keeping his students cooped up inside a room in Jerusalem for three years teaching them principles and bible verses to remember. He actually required them to follow him out into the roads and villages of Judea as he healed, helped, loved and taught people about God. They watched and eventually started doing it themselves.
So..... Ekklesia intentionally spends time on Sundays teaching about Jesus and God. Then on alternating Sundays after a brief worship time, we want to provide a planned opportunity to go out and connect with people and serve them. These "SERVICE SUNDAYS" are on the second and fourth Sundays of every month. It's kind of like in high school biology class when you had "class time" and also "lab time" that let you have hands on practice time to implement what you had learned. A great majority of Jesus' apprenticeship time with his disciples was actually "lab time." So, when Luke described Jesus' ministry in Acts 1:1 he said, "I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach..."
If we want to follow Jesus, we need to focus on doing and teaching all that He did! Let's become the "HANDS AND FEET OF JESUS" in our schools, businesses, neighborhood, community clubs, ball teams and friend groups. Everyday is a new opportunity to become Jesus in our town!

Easter Picnic at Burley Park
March 26th
Ekklesia will again be holding it's annual Easter picnic in Burley Park on Saturday, March 6th. We will have a potluck picnic with everyone invited to bring something to share. There will also be an Easter Egg hunt for all children. There will be an egg hunt area for the younger children and a separate area for the older youth. We will also be having a pinata for the three age groups of children. So, everyone is encouraged to start buying plastic eggs and the candy contents that we always place inside the eggs. Invite your friends. This will be a great day in the park to have fun and connect with new people.
