"Unashamed" Paul's Good News to Rome
New Teaching Series Begins This Sunday!
The purpose of the Ekklesia mission is to share the story of Jesus and his life to anyone who would hear it! We serve the community in order to connect with people and we also take time to share this Gospel or "Good News" whenever we gather in our small group house churches or in our larger gatherings on Sundays. Beginning this Sunday morning, the Ekklesia teaching time will begin a journey through the book called Romans. It is a letter written by the apostle Paul to the christians in Rome who were struggling with many issues just like us today. Tim Blair along with many of our teachers in Ekklesia will take a chapter and share in teaching through the book over the next few months. Beginning this Sunday Darren Hanson will lead us through chapter 1 of Romans with the theme, "Not Ashamed." We are not ashamed of the Story of Jesus which is called the "Gospel." It is this story that fuels our lives and purpose for all we do as his followers. Here is an outline of the next few weeks as we journey through the book of Romans.
1. Unashamed  - Romans 1:1-17 - Darren Hanson
2. Out of Darkness - Romans 1:18-32 - Tim Blair
3. Done Trying and Start Trusting  - Romans 2:1-3:20 - TBA
4. Saved By Faith -  Romans 3:21-31 - TBA
5. Faith In Christ Alone - Romans 4:1-25 - TBA
6. The Benefits of Faith in Christ -  Romans 5:1-21 - TBA
7. A New Life - Romans 6:1-14 - TBA
8. No Longer Slaves to Sin - Romans 6:15-23 - TBA
9. Trying to Follow God's Laws on Our Own  - Romans 7:1-8:2- TBA
10. The Power of the Spiritual Life  - Romans 8:1-15 - TBA
11. Suffering and the Authority of God - Romans 8:16-39 - TBA

Food Drive on Sunday- Reaped 361 lbs.
Last Sunday, several Ekklesia families braved the cold and rain while doing a food drive for the South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank. We positioned people in front of both entrances of the Sedgwick Rd. Albertsons for just two hours! It is always amazing that in just two hours of work we can make such an impact on the community and gather such a large amount of food! The hour started slowly then as people received the fliers we handed out at each door their faces seemed to light up. They realized how simple it was to donate food as they did their normal shopping. The fliers listed the needs of the Food Bank and a proposed list of food items they could purchase while they were shopping inside.  One amazing shopper was entering Albertsons to only do her banking but as she left the store she left two shopping carts full of food for our drive! After only two hours of work our Ekklesia servants received 361 lbs. of food and $94.00 of donated funds. On Monday morning we delivered the food and money to the food bank and helped their food director, Susan Saiki, weigh the filled shopping carts.

March Winds and Rain
February and now the beginning of March has been a very wet time here in Port Orchard! It makes it kind of hard to do work for people outside but the needs continue to exit! Pray that Ekklesia servants find people in need who need the love of Jesus. Thank you to so many people for supporting our work as we pour ourselves into our community and offer a willing hand of service. May the coming weeks offer you and your family new ways to share the Kingdom of God.
