Ekklesia in the Community This Weekend

Ekklesia partners will be going in three directions this weekend as we build our community and also serve others! Because of these three connection opportunities there will be no gathering this Sunday at the Parkwood Club building. The three options for Ekklesia people this weekend are:

1. Ladies Retreat at Delano Bay-
Friday evening through Sunday morning. Oct. 7-9. Ladies will be gathering at the Granberg home Friday evening to enjoy some concentrated time of fellowship and teaching led by Gena Granberg from the Kairos Church Planting Ministry. Details about the weekend are posted on the Ekklesia Facebook page.

2. Youth Retreat- Cider Press Youth Rally
The youth retreat will occur at the Chelan County Fairgrounds in Cashmere, WA. Friday - Sunday, Oct. 7-9th. The Ekklesia youth will be traveling on Friday evening to Eastern Washington to participate in the annual Fall Rally called the Cider Press. There will be spiritual times of teaching, worship and a Saturday afternoon filled with group games and cider press competitions. Our youth will have a great time of spiritual connections with other youth and a lot of fun! They even get a jug of cider to bring home at the end. Travel details are posted on the Ekklesia Facebook page.

3. Sunday Service Project
Sunday, Oct. 9th 10am -12noon
Sandy's yard - 6470 Sidney Rd. SW- Port Orchard.
All other Ekklesia members are invited to participate in a work project in Sandy's yard. We will have workers cleaning her roof, trimming yard bushes and removal of berry vines. Bring gloves, lopers, and any tools needed to do such yard work.

Community Trunk or Treat- Oct. 31st
Ekklesia will be helping with this year's community wide Trunk or Treat event on Monday evening October 31st. The event is sponsored by the National Guard, our local ROTC units, the Helpline Food Bank and That One Place restaurant. We will be assisting with the set up and also the placement of a few booths to distribute candy to thousands of children. This will also be a canned food drive opportunity for our local food bank. The Helpline Food Bank will also be advertising this event to their many clients that frequent the food bank every day. This will truly be a community event that Ekklesia will assist and participate in. Thousands of people will be there and so will the presence of the Lord!

Trunk or Treat 2015

  Jackson Park- Ghost Train Event
Another significant community event in Port Orchard will be the Kitsap Foster Care Association's Ghost Train event on Saturday, October 29th. Each year this event draws thousands of people from throughout Port Orchard to Jackson Park to ride the miniature steam train. Thousands of parents and children in costumes fill the park as they wait to ride the steam train. Ekklesia will set up a collection of booths and provide carnival games to entertain the many families as they wait to ride the train. All proceeds from the train tickets go to the Kitsap County Foster Care Association. This is an amazing opportunity to connect with thousands of families and spread the love of Jesus.

Thank you
Ministry is filled with opportunities. Lisa and I are grateful to have been given this ministry to the Port Orchard community as new people come into our lives to serve and love. We continue to be blessed with the knowledge that so many of you are praying for us. Thank you for your support.
