Leaving Home to Go On Mission
Many Ekklesia partners have made great sacrifices to be a part of the mission to serve and bless South Kitsap. Some have left their comfort zones of familiar churches, others have left family connections and others have left familiar rhythms of life to be a part of a group of mission minded people who want to build God's Kingdom by blessing others and serving the community.
A new family is coming to Ekklesia in a few weeks all the way from Huntsville, Alabama. The Waite family has prayed for five years to to participate in a mission somewhere and have decided to come to Port Orchard to live with the Ekklesia people and join us in serving our community. They want their three children to experience being "ON MISSION" so they sold their home in Huntsville and bought a travel trailer! They are now on the road visiting a few spots across America and will arrive in about two weeks time. Let's pray for Scott and Holly Waite and their three children Kanon (12), Josie (10), and Brody (7). The Waite family hopes to be involved with the core of our community mission projects. We will plug them in as part of our team and will certainly be blessed and taught in many ways by their own giving spirit! Scott and Holly understand that being on mission for Jesus requires sacrifice and this is what they have done. They have left family, a great neighborhood, a thriving Physical Therapy practice, a loving church, many friends and a comfortable home to live in a travel trailer in Port Orchard, Washington for a year! Let us all take their example to heart as we follow Jesus in our own way.
