Tiny House Homeless Village Update
We had several great meetings on Thursday (Sept. 8th) with various groups interested in partnering with Ekklesia in developing a village for homeless residents in Kitsap County. On Thursday morning Tim Blair met with the Port Orchard area Pastors and had an opportunity to share some updated information about our mission to develop a village for the homeless. Several church leaders expressed an interest to know more and join in the effort. Later after the meeting Tim also met with the Pastor and community involvement ministers at the First Lutheran Church of Port Orchard. Pastor Adrian Bonaro is very interested in helping and will be holding a community involvement meeting for local churches next week at their church. They will share the project and call for help. Later in the afternoon Ekklesia members Rick Bell, Sarah Pyke and Tim Blair met with some of the leaders of the Kitsap Habitat For Humanity organization who have offered the use of their property on Sidney Rd. as the new village for the homeless. We discussed many areas of concern regarding getting the ministry operational in the next few months. Monica Bernhard from KCR (Kitsap Community Resources) also attended the meeting and committed the assistance of KCR as the case management coordinators for this new village. God is opening many doors and the village logistics are coming together! Amen....Please pray for us to be led by the Spirit through every decision and that our efforts will be surrounded in protection by God.
