Today, Christians celebrate Christmas, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, and it is the first day of Hanukkah, the Jewish eight-day “festival of lights” celebrating the rededication of the Holy Temple. Tomorrow is the first day of Kwanzaa, a week-long celebration of African-American culture, history, and community.

DLOV Reorganization

Officer Elections on Saturday, January 11, 2025

Carla Bustillos, the DLOV Political Action Director and a founder of Juntos por Virginia, addressed the third annual Felices Fiestas on December 7 with a particularly meaningful message about the coming year. She made a powerful argument that we all need to join together in order to amplify our voices.

One way to do that is by joining DLOV, the statewide Democratic Latino Organization of Virginia, which is reorganizing at the beginning of the new year.

Like our Caucus, you do not need to be Latino to join and elevate the voices of our Latino community and ensure a stronger representation within the Democratic Party and across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

A call to caucus has been issued for the purpose of reorganizing the caucus by electing new officers. Members who have joined or rejoined DLOV by Sunday, January 5, 2025, will vote for officers on Saturday, January 11, 2025. In order to allow the greatest number of members to participate, the call to caucus will be carried out entirely online.

There will be a virtual statewide meeting on Saturday, January 11, 2025, with candidate speeches held at 10:00 AM and electronic voting from 12:00 noon until 5:00 PM.
