Herndon Council Member
Cesar del Aguila comes from a large Latino Catholic family (51 first cousins) and is serving his fourth term on the Herndon Town Council. He is a certified reserve deputy sheriff and was Chair of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee (FCDC) from 2012 to 2014.
Cesar has 35 years experience in information technology sales. He is a regional account executive at Conga, formerly Apttus, and has held various positions in sales serving Fortune 500 and Public Sector clients nationwide. He has helped several private companies go public.

RESTON, Va. — Nearly one week after he died of cancer, family, friends and community members gathered to honor 75-year-old Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) at his funeral service.
Dozens of elected officials from local, state, and federal government helped fill Heritage Fellowship Church in Reston, where Connolly was known to attend and sit six rows back.

The longtime public servant died May 21 with loved ones by his side in his Fairfax County home after his esophageal cancer returned weeks ago, which prompted him to step down as the ranking member of the House Oversight committee.
Born in Massachusetts, Connolly attended seminary school before he pursued services in different capacities that focused on fighting hunger and supporting refugees. Connolly spent a decade working as a staffer for then-Senator Joe Biden on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
His work would transition to 13 years on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, including five as Chairman. During his time in local government, he helped transform the Northern Region through multiple ventures including the construction of the Silver Line.
“Gerry always remained a local elected official at heart,” Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) told attendees.
Those who knew Connolly well described him as compassionate, fiercely loyal and larger than life.

Private Contractors Profit as GOP Supercharges Immigration Detention
Immigrant detention has become a booming industry for private contractors, fueled by a massive funding surge from House Republicans. The FY2025 budget allocates over $150 billion for immigration enforcement, including $45 billion for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention through 2029—a more than 300% increase over current levels . This funding aims to expand detention capacity from 41,500 to 100,000 beds, with private prison companies like GEO Group and CoreCivic poised to benefit significantly.
