HOUSTON - Council Member Fred Flickinger would like to make residents aware that Houston Public Works began intersection improvements along El Dorado Blvd. at Dunmoor Dr., Hickory Knoll Dr., and Larkfield Dr. This project was initiated in response to resident input and crash data identifying the need for enhanced pedestrian and traffic safety improvements in the area.
The scope of work includes the installation of high-visibility crosswalk pavement markings and signage, as well as ADA-compliant ramps, sidewalks, and median cut-throughs at designated crossing locations to enhance pedestrian safety, accessibility, and connectivity. The project cost is $54,486 and is funded through Council Member Flickinger’s Council District Service Funds.
The project is anticipated to be completed by Tuesday, June 23, 2026, weather permitting. Construction activities are expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
As part of the construction activities, residents should expect flaggers and orange traffic cones on-site to help manage traffic flow through the construction zone. Motorists may experience temporary traffic impacts and minor delays in the area during active construction. No service disruptions are expected.
